A message from the Continuum Heart Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center

We at Continuum are pleased to announce that INNER IMAGING™ and the Continuum Heart Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center have collaborated to open the first Risk Assessment and Preventive Cardiology facility in metropolitan New York.

This facility can best be described as a life extension institute, dedicated to the prevention and early detection of heart disease. This is the first collaborative effort of its kind in which we are going after this insidious disease before its manifestation as a killer. Coronary Artery Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. It represents approximately 500,000 deaths annually or one person per minute. However, most victims go untreated until the disease reveals its symptoms, such as heart attack or stroke.

Risk Assessment combined with Preventive Cardiology is a relatively new concept and integrates the disciplines of cardiology and radiology with a new standard of diagnostics. Combined with professionally administered programs, INNER IMAGING will seek to improve a patient's quality of life and possibly reduce the mortality rate of heart disease.

With the extensive resources of the Continuum Heart Institute and Beth Israel Medical Center, INNER IMAGING has the opportunity to offer patients not only preventive alternatives but also solutions for those patients who are diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease. This unique combination of services distinguishes INNER IMAGING as the leader in this new field of diagnostics and treatment. As the leader, INNER IMAGING will continue to be innovative in its approach to new science, its medical applications and patient treatment.

We at the Continuum Heart Institute are proud of these collaborative efforts and look forward to the development of other preventive centers with INNER IMAGING.

Dr. Thomas Killip M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.C.
